Bandcamp doesn't provide a public search API. To scrape metadata, you must provide a direct URL to the album or track page. You can find this by searching on bandcamp.com or using the links below.
Paste the full URL to an album or track page

Welcome to MetaMuLate, the advanced metadata reconciliation tool. This system allows you to aggregate, verify, and consolidate music metadata from multiple authoritative sources with persistent golden records and comprehensive session history management.
Golden records now persist across all searches and sessions. Once a track is confirmed and resolved, it remains in your golden records collection until explicitly removed.
All scraped metadata is now preserved in a sessionHistory array. No more lost data when performing new searches!
New function in Data & Config menu to export and clear session history:
Real-time stats displayed in console footer:
Before beginning, click the Connections button. While some sources (iTunes Public, Lyrics.ovh) work out of the box, others require API keys:
Spotify is positioned as the first second-tier source after Apple, providing rich streaming metadata:
Spotify uses OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials flow. After entering your credentials:
Spotify deprecated track/album-level genres. When genre data is unavailable, MetaMuLate automatically falls back to the artist's profile genres.
A icon indicates genre data came from the artist profile rather than the track/album.
MetaMuLate allows you to choose between Apple Music or Spotify as your primary discovery source for artist/track searches.
Open the Connections modal to find the Discovery Source selector at the top. Choose between:
The search bar placeholder updates to show which source is active.
The first column is locked to your discovery source. All other columns can be freely configured:
Default matrix configuration only includes sources that are properly configured:
Several sources return multiple matching results, which you can paginate through in the matrix:
Use the pagination controls in each matrix column header to navigate between results. Limits can be customized in the Connections modal.
MetaMuLate v10.0 supports secure methods to connect to Snowflake:
Run the included metamulate-proxy binary. Supports SSO/External Browser authentication - credentials are managed securely on your machine, never stored in the browser.
./start.sh # macOS/Linux
start.bat # Windows
SSO authentication: Browser opens for corporate login, tokens managed by proxy.
When MetaMuLate is served from a web server (https://), it can connect directly to Snowflake's SQL API. This method is NOT available when running as a local file (file://).
Note: Credentials are stored in browser localStorage and visible in DevTools.
Let MetaMuLate automatically choose the best method based on your environment:
Important: For production and enterprise use, always use the Local Proxy method with SSO authentication. Direct connections store credentials in the browser which is not suitable for sensitive environments.
Security Note: Third-party CORS proxies are NOT supported for Snowflake connections as they could expose your credentials to untrusted services.
Enter an Artist name in the top left search bar. By default, the system uses Apple Music/iTunes as the discovery source, but you can swap to Spotify in the Connections modal. Results are automatically sorted by Authority Score - a composite ranking that prioritizes:
The Authority Score is a weighted metric that ranks metadata quality and authenticity (0-200+ scale):
Example: A track with ISRC (50), all 10 fields filled (20), released in 1997 (30), P-Line (10), Label (10), and Composer (5) would score 125 before MusicBrainz bonus.
Each result displays: ISRC badge, ⭐ Authority Score, Completeness %, and Release Year.
The central grid displays data from all connected sources side-by-side.
Important: Every data point has an icon. Clicking this opens the source verification page. We do not generate mock data. if a field says "N/A", the source did not provide it.
The system employs a "Gold Standard" matching algorithm. When reconciling, it prioritizes sources that provide strict ISRC matches, UPCs, and high text-similarity scores. Exact matches > Fuzzy matches.
Click any cell in the matrix to promote that value to the "Golden Record" on the right. Once satisfied, click Confirm & Resolve Track to add it to your persistent golden records collection.
goldenRecords arrayThe Golden Records modal provides comprehensive management:
The Data & Config menu provides comprehensive data management with four categories:
Note: Golden Records sheet now exports from the persistent goldenRecords array, not filtered from current tracks. This means ALL your confirmed tracks are always included, regardless of current queue.
Exports now include platform-specific identifiers for cross-referencing:
Tip: The green Export button in the header is a quick shortcut to export ALL golden records as an Excel file.
Golden records are designed to persist through normal operations:
| Function | Location | What's Cleared | What's Preserved |
|---|---|---|---|
| DUMP Session History | Data & Config menu | Current queue + session history | Golden records + API keys |
| Clear All Golden Records | Golden Records modal | All golden records only | Session history + queue |
| Factory Reset | Settings | Everything (keys, config, data) | Nothing - complete wipe |
Enable Debug Mode in the console panel to see complete request/response payloads for all API calls, including verification attempts. Useful for troubleshooting connection issues.

This section is for developers running MetaMuLate locally from the file system. Hosted deployments at metamulate.dev.theorchard.io do not require proxy configuration.
Recommended: Use the included Go binary CORS proxy for maximum reliability and security.
start-windows.batstart-mac.sh (or run chmod +x start-mac.sh && ./start-mac.sh in Terminal)The proxy will start on http://localhost:8080 and the app will auto-detect it. Keep the terminal window open while using MetaMuLate.
For shared team use or permanent deployment, host your own CORS proxy:
git clone https://github.com/Rob--W/cors-anywhere.git
cd cors-anywhere
heroku create my-cors-proxy
git push heroku master
Your proxy will be at: https://my-cors-proxy.herokuapp.com/
1. Fork cors-anywhere on GitHub
2. Connect to Railway.app
3. Deploy from your forked repo
4. Add environment variable: PORT=8080
// Build from source (requires Go installed):
go build -o cors-proxy cors-proxy.go
// Or use pre-compiled binaries:
// Windows: cors-proxy.exe
// macOS Intel: cors-proxy-mac-intel
// macOS ARM: cors-proxy-mac-arm
// Run:
./cors-proxy
// Proxy runs on http://localhost:8080
In the Connections modal, update the "CORS Proxy URL" field to your deployed proxy URL.
